Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma/GED
- 500 hours of work or volunteer experience as a peer recovery specialist.
- 2 tiers- certified or non-certified. Non-certified requires a state-approved training program and lived experience. Certified requires 500 hours of work or volunteer experience as a peer recovery specialist, lived experience, 25 on-the-job training hours, 46 hours of training/education
Continuing Education Requirements:
- 20 hours relevant to peer recovery including 6 hours in ethics every 2 years
